Clinical Counselling
In person in Sechelt, BC and virtually across BC
For Children, Adults and Youth

Play Therapy & Sandtray
I offer play therapy for children ages 3+. Play therapy is strongly supported by clinical evidence to benefit children's mental health. My home office includes a play therapy and sand-tray therapy space. I'm so grateful it's now been over five years that I've gotten to provide counselling for children and youth. I use mostly child centred and expressive play therapy, arts based and sand tray therapy. These approaches hold a special place in my heart, as I have seen them help many children access their own strength, inner goodness , hope and light. I have focused training in sand-tray, play therapy, play therapy for complex PTSD, and expressive arts therapy. I work with children and youth on topics like divorce, grief and loss, phobias, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, OCD, family violence, abuse and neglect.

Expressive therapies are open for adult and youth clients as well and can be especially helpful when we have lots of feelings to process, but need a paced and safe place for expression. Working in these ways can get to the root of the experience beyond what we can express in words. This might be helpful in times of grief and loss, trauma, heartbreak, divorce, career change or other major life transitions.
Note: I have special training in play and sandtray. I'm not a certified art therapist but do have training in expressive approaches. I am always happy to facilitate and encourage creative work.

My Guideposts

Empathy
You deserve a place of warmth & understanding as you face the hard things.
Curiosity
Non-judgmental space for you to understand and accept all parts of who you are.
Safety
Therapy can feel intense sometimes. I'm committed to helping you feel grounded and resourced along the way.
Collaboration
I bring my skills, but you are the expert on you! I believe in your inner wisdom.
Services & Costs
I offer individual, 1 on 1, therapy sessions for children 3+, youth and adults. Sessions can take place in person, virtually/video/phone, or outdoors on a walk and talk.

Therapy is an investment on both sides. My role is to invest my energy and dollars into training, competency, my own therapy, the business, and self care. Through all this I hope to be able to offer you the best services possible and come to sessions grounded and focused.

Though I wish therapy was covered for everyone in BC, it does require an investment of energy and finances from you. I want to make therapy as accessible as I possibly can, while still covering my business costs. I offering sliding scale fees when needed and many extended health insurance programs cover some RCC services. Please check your individual program. I am registered as a First Nations Health Authority mental health provider, meaning up to 20 sessions per year could be covered for you, if you are Status First Nations in BC, through FNHA's program.
